In 2020 I was brought on as UI Artist at Foxie Games. As part of my work across multiple titles, I explored a new visual direction for our flagship mobile MMORPG, Wolf Tales.
During pre-production work for the 'Home and Heart' expansion, I designed new conceptual logo designs, ability icons and a custom display typeface for use across marketing and the UI. This is a collection of style setting exercises and is not representative of what made it into the final game.
The new logo for Wolf Tales evokes fantasy and runic language, using the fangs from the wolf attack icon as a logomark. I created a 3D mesh of the logo to play with depth and to bring the curves and angles of the typeface into the light.
I worked on redesigning the icons for all the 40+ abilities in the game, taking care to build a visual system as a foundation for different damage types. They were carefully constructed on a grid for consistency and displayed in a few mock UI pieces to set the tone.
I developed a capitalised display typeface for use in marketing and the UI. It features harsh angles, solid foundations and smooth arcs, taking care to ensure the points and curves relate back to the icons. It also contains several lowercase styled capitals, reinforcing the fantasy themes.
